The island of Madeira is somewhere in the middle of the Atlantic, right near the Africa Coast, more exact Morocco. A good thing about this holiday destination is that the temperature is constant all through the year – in winter time it hardly drops 20 degrees Celsius and in summer time it hardly goes upper than 28 degrees Celsius.
This island is a nature show – abrupt valleys, which cut the volcanic soil, and on these valleys on can grow anything one can think of – from potatoes to cereals to bananas. Moreover, the bananas from this place are the most exported goods. They have the so called “silver bananas”, which are believed to be the best bananas and the most tasteful.
The capital – city of the island – Fuchal is represented by some hills that abruptly go over the ocean. The most enchanting sightseeing is the one that you get from . You will get to this area by the funicular.
This is the place where you can try they Madeira wine. It is very similar to the Wine of Porto – it is not a regular wine, it is a fortified one – the fermentation process is broken and to this – half- fermented wine one adds alcohol. Then it is left in barrels and it is left to get old up in the attic, where there should be warmth. This turns out to be a really sweet and good wine.
One can as well practice different sports here, such as horse riding, walking on mountain ranges, paintball, visiting Madeira gardens, canoe, mountain bike or even light flying. More to come … enjoy!
