Bali is a place on earth that many think it can be easily compared or believed to be the Paradise. It is a green place, filled with flowers all around, where the rhythm of life is not too fast or too slow, it is just perfect not to get bored, and people live in harmony with Gods and have a nice warm weather and a fertile land.
Ubud is the cultural capital of this island and the second main point of interest for the visitors. The main purpose one has to come here is not to stay lying in the beach but of getting to learn more about the culture and better to feel the island. Anyhow, it also has the possibility to offer you many nice places to eat, to have a drink – places that look so nice that many European capitals would envy.
The Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary is probably the most visited place in Ubud – do not expect the monkeys to be friendly and to want to play with you. They are extremely aggressive and feel anything that might be hidden in your bag, as long as it has to do with food. They fight between each other and their passion is to climb on visitor’s heads. You should take them as they are and not fight with them if they want your food. Here one can as well find some interesting temples where as a woman; one should enter wearing a skirt, not pants. The main temple in the woods is the Pura Dalem Agung. It is destined to a monster – Rangda, who devoured the disobedient children – so bad children should be afraid of it.
Here is the location from where you can go to two religious complexes – Goa Gajah is one of them. Here you can see some fountains in the shape of a woman statue. At the entrance you can buy and taste some coconut juice. Enjoy!
