Laponia is located in the farthest part of the northern Finland. It is a place where you can find snow and see for the first time in your life, a new way of offering flowers – flowers in an ice wrap.
On the road there you see nothing but white, a tiring landscape, depressing and monochrome. Without the sun light you feel like you are deserted. The polar night is not as dark as one imagines it. The moon that mirrors in the snow, offers a diffuse, guiding light. Anyhow, if the sky is covered with clods, the sadness is felt everywhere. It is a state of mind that overwhelms you, as this country has no mountains – it is plate and this makes it hard to have a bench-mark.
Walking with the sledge driven by husky dogs will prove to be one of the most enjoyable experiences from your trip to Laponia. The sledge is drawn by 6 husky dogs and they leave from already marked ranges. On the sledge there can be two people, one that drives it and one that sits on it. You can change places from time to time.
The freedom sensation, of terrestrial flight, of desert is a mix of incredible ingredients that one can only find here. You will be able to try for the first time a specially created tent for this atmosphere – a snow tent – an ice hotel. The feeling that you have once inside, is incredible. You can sculpt inside whatever you want, such as a bar.
Being here, you can visit the city of Santa Claus, meet his elves, receive an official reply from Santa to your letter to Santa this year etc.
