Opened in September 2012 and located in the UNESCO designated city of Valparaiso in Chile, Palacio Astoreca Hotel is the most exclusive point in the natural amphitheatre overlooking the magnificent bay. The hotel is located in Centro Alegre, steps away from the famous Paseo Yugoslavo and the Fine Arts Museum near the Baburizza Palace. The hotel features 23 individually designed rooms, each with its own antique-meets-modern décor and superb views over the bay. The amenities also include a spa, restaurant, wine cellar, bar and a library, all housed in two buildings, the completely restored heritage building, the palace, and an older house. The buildings have not lost the style and elegance they once had as they were carefully restored.
The spa offers top-notch services for all senses. “Elegant, with its dark slate walls and floor, the spa has a covered temperate swimming pool, hammam, massages salon and a hot tub, typical bath from the south of Chile where the water is heated with wood. It´s a magical and welcoming place to relax or enjoy a massage”. The restaurant is also quite impressive and is led by Francisco Araya, a talented chef whose experience includes stints at Ferran Adria’s El Bulli, as well as co-founding restaurant 81 in Tokyo.
