Situated in the heart of Shanghai, in the shopping and nightlife hub, URBN is an award winning design-meets-sustainable boutique hotel, occupying a converted factory warehouse. The hotel was built using 100% recycled and locally sourced materials and it is China’s first carbon neutral hotel. Sleek and smart this hotel features 26 distinctive rooms fashioned from industrial spaces and blending the contemporary, minimalist and eco-chic design. There are four room types: Studio, Atrium, Garden View and Penthouse. The rooms are all equipped with 600 thread count sheets, 46 inch flat screen television, king size bed and air purification system.
The design was elaborated by New York-based Jay Godfrey emphasizing on a minimalist styling with sharp lines and soothing colours. The hotel location in downtown Jing’an is quite convenient as it’s just a walk away from the former French Concession area and a myriad of Shanghai’s finest shopping and dining options. Although located on such a busy area, URBN hotel is tucked on a quiet street which guarantees a peaceful stay in what is supposed to be a sanctuary in China’s most exciting and dynamic metropolis.
