Qualia in Latin means “a collection of deeper sensory experiences” and it does not betray its meaning. Privacy and elegance describe the luxury world-class resort Qualia located on the secluded northern part of the Hamilton Island and surrounded by the Great Barrier Reef.
The resort has 60 individually designed pavilions and one beach house, all which make best use of the natural tranquility the island has to offer. The resort is an exquisite example of the unique Australian design which combines a unique sense of space, openness and harmony.
Qualia is the work of Australian architect Chris Beckingham whose intention “was to create a luxurious Australian retreat that stimulates the senses and draws the outside in. Set amongst native Eucalypts, each pavilion has been handcrafted from the finest imported and local timber and stone. To complement the natural surrounds, Dennis Nona’s artworks adorn the walls and Freedman Rembel has furnished the interiors with fabrics and patterns inspired by nature.”
