A three weeks holiday in Africa is a once in a lifetime adventure. This is a world of contrasts, a world where one can bump into both deserts and Havana to the most luxurious hotels. Some of the holidays that you organized are in conformity with the needs that you feel at a certain time, but there are as well holidays that you organize in the same location cause you liked the location, the hotels and the people there, that you keep on going over and over again.
Choosing Africa as a holiday destination you must bear in mind that there are many places to go here to; this is why it is advisable to choose a three weeks holiday, to be able to include them all. Landing in Cape Town, you can rent a car and cross a big part of South Africa, Namibia and Botswana, in order to get to Victoria Falls. The first stop of this trip would be in Namibia. On your way there you will cross the Fishriver Canyon, the second large canyon in the world, after the American one, and the beautiful red sand dunes.
Another touristic objective is Wolwedans Boulders Lodge, one of the most beautiful lounges in which you can stay. The 5 tent rooms are in the middle of a big savannah, where you can make a light safari. There you will find a pool, an extremely beautiful decorated lounge, a generous library that contains albums about Namibia and many other relaxing things. You can have dinner at the stars light, in the clear nights, or at the candle lights – as almost no lodge from Africa has electrical current.
Botswana is the next in line for stopping. This country is known as having the fewest inhabitants on square meter from Africa, which means that there are 3 people on square meter. From here you will get to Maun, one of the biggest cities and from there, enter the delta area. This delta has 17000 square kilometers and it is one of the biggest deltas in the world – Okavando Delta. This delta is very swampy; therefore you should go in with an experienced guide. In Botswana you will see that it is very beautiful, but as beautiful as t is, it as well is very dangerous. Animals here get out of their shelter during night time and in the first hours of the morning, while during day time, they stay hidden from the sun. Here you will get to see “the Big Five” as the trophy animals are called – the lion, the elephant, the leopard, the rhinoceros and the buffalo.
The last part of this trip will take you to Zambia and Zimbabwe, more exact to say, Victoria Falls. This is considered the eight wonder in the world, as the locals like to call it. The Zambezi River separates Zambia from Zimbabwe and creates a beautiful oasis. You can try rafting here. Enjoy!
